Ranchi: Accusing Shibu Soren’s family of indulging in corruption, former chief minister and BJP’s leader of legislative party Babulal Marandi, on Monday, said they built an empire by looting the state’s resources.
The Dhanwar MLA demanded that the Hemant Soren government must be ousted to rid the state of all ills. “The definition of executive and legislature has changed in this state since the Hemant government came to power in 2019. The government is working as per its whims. There is no one to curb violation of laws.”
He alleged that the government floated a tender for liquor business under the new excise policy and when their preferred contractors did not like the terms, the government changed it. “No work can be done without bribing officials and there is a whole nexus in the entire system at work,” he said.
Hitting back at Marandi and his party, Congress spokesperson Rakesh Sinha said the BJP hasn’t been able to come to terms after the poll losses. “The party is power hungry and in its attempts to destabilise the government, it keeps accusing the government. Marandi must not forget that it was during the previous BJP regime that Jharkhand created new records in the country in terms of mob lynching, financial irregularities among others,” he said.
