Ranchi: The enforcement directorate (ED) on Thursday continued the interrogation of suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal, chartered accountant (CA) Suman Kumar, and district mining officer of Pakur in connection with the Mahatman Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and mining scam besides the charges of money laundering.
Meanwhile, the ED filed an affidavit in the Jharkhand high court on Thursday saying during the course of its investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), it has found serious irregularities by Singhal in the allotment of mining leases.
Even as the interrogation was underway, social activist Samir Kumar Sinha said he has sent a memorandum to the ED, demanding a probe into the works of Singhal during the previous BJP-led government also.
Notably, Singhal and the CA would be presented before the special PMLA court on Friday as their remand period would end.
