Ranchi: The committee probing the involvement of Namkum circle officer (CO) Vinod Prajapati who was accused of thrashing a on-duty Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) worker on May 14 has found the administrative official guilty in the incident.
A report in this regard has been submitted to the revenue department on Wednesday and action is awaited. Meanwhile, Prajapati is yet to submit his reply to a show cause notice issued to him by RMC in which the civic body had asked him to present his side.
Talking to TOI, Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan said: “We have submitted the report to the revenue department as it is the controlling department for circle officers.”
As per the report, a copy of which is with TOI, the probe committee has clearly mentioned that accusations made by RMC worker Pintu Kachhap engaged in garbage collection stands true and Prajapati has been found guilty of thrashing him on duty.
The accusation was made by Kachhap after Parajapati thrashed him on the morning of May 14 as he had to wait for less than a minute in his official car while the RMC workers were collecting garbage from an upscale residential society in Bariatu area. Prajapati got enraged as he had to wait for less than a minute as RMC garbage collection vehicle had been blocking the road for collection of garbage.
The whole incident was recorded on CCTV camera in which Prajapati is seen getting out of his car and thrashing the civic body worker.
A senior official in the district administration said that action will be definitely taken against the official concerned as he has been found guilty.
No case has been registered yet in this connection. “We haven’t received any complaint from the RMC worker. Once we receive it we will be filing a case immediately,” said station in-charge of Bariatu police station, Gyan Ranjan.
