Ranchi: Suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal on Wednesday complained of uneasiness during her interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the MGNREGA scam, money laundering and recovery of a huge amount of cash during the raids conducted from May 6.
The ED on Wednesday interrogated Singhal, chartered accountant Suman Kumar and the district mining officers of Pakur and Dumka.
After Singhal complained of headache and uneasiness, a doctor was called in to examine her who advised her to rest for two hours after her blood pressure was found high. The ED chose to suspend her interrogation for the day.
Even as the interrogation went on, senior BJP leaders, including former chief minister Babulal Marandi and Godda MP Nishikant Dubey took to Twitter to share news in connection with the mining scam.
Marandi said that according to information he got, mining officers have revealed to the interrogators that around Rs 17 crore were collected as bribe from illegal mining of stone, sand and coal. “It denotes that in 830 days rule, the corrupt persons have earned Rs 3,500 crore as bribe,” Marandi tweeted.
Meanwhile, Dubey said that he has learnt from sources that ED has recovered the draft of chief minister Hemant Soren’s mining lease from mobile phone of Singhal.
