Ranchi: The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) on Monday decided to put on hold the appointment process of assistant engineers hours after the Jharkhand high court snubbed the commission for granting reservation in the preliminary test of the examination held for recruitment.
JPSC said it has been put on hold till further notice in view of the hearing of the matter in the high court.
The court was hearing a petition filed by one Bhaskar Kumar who said that the commission conducted exams for appointment of assistant engineers in which 21,000 candidates appeared, but the result of only 4,700 was released. The main exams were held in October 2021 and result was declared two months later.
Kumar said that the commission granted reservation to candidates of the reserved category while conducting the preliminary exams. The court of Justice Rajesh Shankar has ordered the JPSC and the state government to file their affidavits in the matter.
