Bokaro: A team of district excise department on Thursday recovered 750 boxes of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) bottles during a raid on a stone crusher that has been shut down at Balidih area in Bokaro district. The team also found about 450 litres of spirit, 10,000 caps of bottles, wrappers of various liquor brands, and an SUV used for transporting the bottles.
Assistant excise commissioner Arvind Kujur said, “The owner of the crusher unit, Santosh Singh, has been arrested while two are absconding. A case has been registered. The recovered liquor bottles carry label of a Himachal Pradesh brand, dreamgirl. The seized wrappers are of different brands.” Arrested Santosh revealed during interrogation that the liquor bottles are traded by one Ranjay Singh, who after mixing cheap liquor in popular brands smuggle it to different districts of Jharkhand and Bihar. The seized brand was made here and consumed mostly in Bihar, Kujur added.
