Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration has decided to conduct random checks to see if building owners are following approved plan.
DC Vijaya Jadhav has asked the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC), and Jugsalai Municipal Council (JMC) to constitute separate teams for visits to the commercial and private buildings on a daily basis in their respective areas.
“The job of the respective municipal committees will be to make physical verification of the implementation of the approved structural design,” DC said in a press communique.
The building owner, if found guilty of using the basement for commercial purpose or constructing additional structure altering the building plan, will face legal action in accordance with the Jharkhand Municipal Act, 2011.
The municipal body of the area will serve notice to the building owner on the first instance, and will be given a specific time period to voluntarily demolish the unauthorised construction.
If not done, water and electricity connection to the building will be severed.
The utility services will be restored only after the building owner gets fresh no objection certificate (NOC) from the respective area municipal body.
A 13-member panel will be formed at the district level for the monitoring purpose, while the municipal bodies will submit action taken report every fortnight.
The officer in-charge of all the police stations across the three civic bodies have been asked to cooperate with the local body teams during illegal construction/anti deviation exercise.
