RANCHI: The Adani Group’s under-construction 1,600MW thermal power plant in Godda district is likely to become functional by October this year and start power supply to Bangladesh soon.
Sources in the company confirmed to TOI that the power produced by the plant will be supplied to the Bangladesh Power Development Board through dedicated power cables stretching from Godda, West Bengal and up to Bogura district in the neighbouring country, a distance of 90km from the Indian border, under a power purchase agreement of the two companies through an MoU signed between India and Bangladesh.
